STATEMENT: My attention to walls--interior and exterior--grew out of my interest in social landscape work where I was attracting to an underlying feeling of absence, of loneliness, and of discomfort.  I combined this attraction with the literal definitions of wall and maps:  walls as things that are perceived as a protective or restrictive barrier as well as maps as a diagram or collection of data showing the spatial arrangement or distribution of something over a specific area.
